How it works
Every (URL × device) combination is its own job. A pool of workers (configurable: 2/3/5) pulls jobs off the queue and runs them in parallel. Each job loads the screenshot in a hidden Image, polls past mShots' placeholder GIF, then writes the final URL into its tile.
WordPress mShots — free, no watermark. First request triggers a render and returns a 400×300 placeholder; subsequent requests for the same URL/size hit cache. We poll up to 14 times (1.2s → 3s spacing) and auto-fall-back to Microlink if mShots stays slow.
Microlink — proper headless-Chrome render. Free tier ≈ 50/day per IP.
thum.io — fast above-the-fold capture, free tier carries a small watermark.
