is.gd — fast, supports custom aliases, has a public stats page (your-link-stats). EU-hosted. Some ISPs (notably in IN/PK/UAE) block its IP range; this tool auto-falls-back to v.gd in that case.
v.gd — same operator as is.gd, identical API and alias rules, but a different IP range that isn't on common blocklists.
TinyURL — oldest of the three; no expiry. Free endpoint doesn't accept custom aliases. Some social platforms still flag tinyurl links because they were over-used in spam years ago.

All three keep links live indefinitely unless they're flagged for abuse. Don't use a public shortener for anything sensitive — anyone with the short URL can request the destination, including bots that scrape every possible token.

CleanURI was previously listed here but has been removed: their API does not send CORS headers and offers no JSONP mode, so it cannot be called from a browser. Every public CORS proxy that used to forward POST requests is now either offline, rate-limited, or behind Cloudflare's 403. We'd rather not show an option that can't work.
