What you set, and what it changes

Essay Writer is driven by type (argumentative, expository, persuasive, analytical, compare and contrast, narrative), length (short, medium, long), academic level (high school, undergraduate, master's, doctoral), point of view (third person, first person, we / our) and citations (none, APA 7, MLA 9, Chicago, Harvard). Those are not decoration — each one rewrites the instruction the model is given, so changing type and running again gives you a genuinely different piece rather than the same one reworded.

Why it plans before it writes

Ask any model for a long piece and it starts producing sentences immediately, settling the claim somewhere in the first paragraph and the structure as it goes. That is how you get sections that each restate the introduction and an ending that adds nothing. Planning first splits the two jobs: you get a thesis and a section order with a word budget attached to each section, as editable text, so a bland claim or a missing section is fixed cheaply instead of by rewriting a finished draft. Prefer to skip it? Write it goes straight to the result without planning.

Hitting the length

Targets here run 500–1500 words. A result that stops well short is usually not the model giving up, it is the request running out of token budget — so this page sizes that budget from your target rather than leaving it at a fixed default. The result panel shows the words produced against the words asked for, and if it still lands short, Continue extends the draft instead of rerolling it and losing what was good.

What happens to your text

Your settings are remembered in this browser so you are not retyping them next visit. The text itself is not: it is sent to generate the result and kept nowhere. Everything a model writes is worth reading before you use it — check any fact, figure, name or citation against a real source first.
